Girls U10 Hockey Team 2022-23 Season

We have seen throughout the years that all hockey players, both male and female, enjoy playing multiple hockey teams (town and club). Therefore, we surveyed our current families with girls in the coed program to hear what they would like to see for their girls in the future. With that insight, we developed the below listed format of the newer girls programming to welcome girls that want to play on multiple teams, multiple sports, school teams, or a lighter program for beginners transitioning into the sport. Every player makes the team.

We encourage leadership development so we have also allowed for more opportunities for our older girls to empower our younger girls at every skill level.

About the 2022-23 season:

  • Birth years 2012 and 2013

  • Weekly coed skills

  • All skill levels welcome

  • Support from our high school team throughout the season

  • 2-3 games per month

  • Competes in the Middlesex Yankee Conference Girl's Hockey League (games scheduled by MYC)

  • 2 off-ice activities/practices per month

  • Intermission Skate with the Boston Pride

  • Great opportunity for girls looking to play multiple teams and multiple sports!

Newton in the news: Spotlight on: Newton Youth Hockey's Girls Program (mahockey.org)

Prior to the beginning of this season, it had been 8 years since NYH was last in the MYC's U10 Division. We had so much fun on the bench, and I'm not sure I understood half of the jokes - but the time spent together was really worth it! It is definitely an exciting adventure day in and day out. The girls have come so far in skill development and that special team-cohesion that boosts their confidence. I've included some pictures below. We hope to see you at tryouts on March 28th. This is a great program for beginners. We have an endless amount of partners and volunteers to thank for their support. Unfortunately, we cannot squeeze them all in one page or even one website. Thank you to the entire community for helping us grow the love of the game! ~Lisa Casillo, NYH Coach and Girls Program Director girls@newtonyouthhockey.com
