This program is open to all Newton residents who are enrolled in either 6th, 7th or 8th grade in any school (whether or not one of the four Newton middle schools), but subject to the eligibility rules discussed below
There will be no try outs
Preference is given first to NYH players and then to non-NYH players from the four Newton public middle schools.
This will be a "game only" program, meaning that there will be no guaranteed practices. As such, tuition will be $400 for current NYH players, or $450 for other participants.
We expect to have (at a minimum) 1 co-ed team for combined 7th and 8th grade and 1 co-ed team for 6th grade.
Each team can have up to 20 players (18 skaters and 2 goalies) on the bench at one time. If more than 30 players try out for a particular team, the program may expand to 2 teams at that particular level, depending on ice and coaching availability
