The Head Coaches of the 2007 2008 Hockey Season have already had their first coaches meeting and it began with a Strength & Conditioning Clinic at Boston University's Athletic Enhancement Center (BUAEC) under the watchful eye of Head Coach - Noel Vigue; Strength & Conditioning Lead at BUAEC. Using the method that "doing" is the highest level of knowing, the Coaches were run through a series of exercises adding to their knowledge base with the intent on delivering the best experience they can to the kids.
If you have an interest in coaching hockey to youth hockey players contact Kelly Kee - Director of Coaching for Newton Youth Hockey. We are currently selecting coaches for the 2007-2008 season. Please fill-in the attached application and send to us electronically (or print then fax to 281 664-4461). Our program reimburses for the CEP Certification classes, our play in the Valley Hockey League, and our practice ice is mostly at the Fessenden School in Newton and surrounding rinks. We have roughly 27 games per season and practice on average about 1.5 times per week. Openings vary depending on and your desired level of involvement (Mite through Midget and Middle School).

Mass Hockey awarded Newton Youth Hockey ACE Program (Coordinator) of the year for 2006 /2007 - our coaches receive some of the best support around and we continue to improve that experience. Most recently we added the "Goalie Guru" position to increase the knowledge base for our coaches, we work closely with Brian Eklund (former NHL Goaltender) and other organizations like Boston University's Athletic Enhancement Center and Pro Ambitions.
